about

Born in New York City in the early 80s, The Arcitype's love for music began at the young age of five when his father enrolled him in music school, surrounding him with a variety of different instruments. After relocating to the rural countryside of Western Massachusetts, The Arcitype began studying Classical piano, and later developed a strong love for the Blues, which led to his learning to play guitar.

As the lead guitarist with Blues/Funk group Tip Top Deluxe, The Arcitype played small clubs throughout the New England and Tri-State area. When the group split in 2000, The Arcitype moved onto a solo career in Acoustic Rock and Blues. The need for demos spurred his interest in the recording process, and led him to set up a home studio.

By 2002, The Arcitype had branched out into Hip Hop, seeing it as the contemporary interpretation of the traditional Blues he had fallen in love with years ago. Utilizing his diverse musical background, The Arcitype began producing beats.

The Arcitype headed to Boston to pursue a degree in Audio Production and Music at Emerson College. It was during this time that he began to develop relationships and establish himself in the Boston Hip Hop scene.

In 2008, The Arcitype formed his label, AR Classic Records, as a home for the projects he was working on. Later that same year, he opened the doors of a brand new, multi-room, recording studio facility, The Bridge Sound & Stage in Cambridge, MA. Since then, he has built the studio's reputation and made it a musical epicenter for the New England Area, winning Boston Music Awards “Recording Studio of The Year” twice.
